Privacy policy
We collect what is needed to answer a quote and fill an order, and nothing for its own sake.

Who is responsible for your information
Building Trade Supply. Questions go to sales@buildingtradesupply.com.
What we collect
- Quote requests: the name, company, email, phone, delivery region, part list and notes you enter, plus the page you sent it from and the time.
- Email you send us and our replies.
- Standard server logs held by our hosting and network providers: IP address, browser type, pages requested and timestamps, used for security and reliability.
- Usage events recorded by the site itself: what was searched for, whether it was found, and whether a quote request was started or sent. These are not tied to a person and use no cookies.
- Advertising and measurement tags: the site loads the Meta Pixel and Google Tag Manager. They record page views and whether a quote or price-check request was sent, so we can measure and show our ads to people who visited the site. Meta and Google receive your browser and device information and may set their own cookies. Names, emails, phone numbers and part lists are never sent to them.
What we do not collect
We never see or store your card or bank details. When you pay a quote, you enter them on Stripe’s secure checkout page and they go directly to Stripe. We do not sell or rent contact information.
How we use it
To answer your quote, place and manage your order, reply to your questions, keep records required for tax and accounting, and protect the site against abuse. We contact you about your own requests and orders only.
How long we keep it
Quote requests that do not become orders are kept for 24 months so a requote can reference them, then deleted. Order records are kept for seven years to meet Canadian tax and accounting requirements.
Your choices
Email sales@buildingtradesupply.com to see, correct or delete the information we hold about you, or to stop any communication. We respond within 30 days. If you are not satisfied, you may contact the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada.
