Terms of sale

These terms apply to every quote we issue and every order you approve. They are written to be read, not skimmed.

Last updated 29 September 2026

Who these terms are with

"We" and "us" means Building Trade Supply. "You" means the business placing the order.

1. Quotes

A quote is an offer to supply the listed parts at the stated prices, currency and delivery terms until its validity date. Quantities, part numbers and delivery address on the quote are the basis of the order. Errors in a quote may be corrected before approval.

2. Orders

An order exists when you approve a quote in writing, by email or by purchase order referencing the quote. We then place the supplier order. Changes or cancellation after that point are subject to the supplier's terms and any costs already incurred, which we state before proceeding.

3. Prices and taxes

Prices are in the currency shown on the quote and include the freight, duty and brokerage lines stated. Applicable sales tax, GST or HST is charged according to the delivery address and shown separately. Prices exclude any tax or fee not stated on the quote that arises from your own circumstances.

4. Payment

Payment is due in full before the supplier order is placed. We do not offer credit accounts or payment terms. Accepted payment methods are stated on the quote. Title to parts passes on payment in full; risk passes on delivery to the address on the order.

5. Delivery

Delivery dates are estimates based on supplier availability at the time of quoting and are not guaranteed unless stated as guaranteed on the quote. Shortages or damage must be noted with the carrier at delivery and reported to us within two business days. See shipping and delivery.

6. Returns and warranty

Returns are accepted as described in the returns and warranty policy. Parts carry the manufacturer's warranty only. We make no warranty of our own beyond supplying the parts described on the quote, and disclaim implied warranties to the extent permitted by law.

7. Limitation of liability

Our liability for any claim arising from an order is limited to the amount paid for the affected parts. We are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, including downtime, lost profit or labour, except where liability cannot be limited by law.

8. Suitability and use

You are responsible for confirming that a part is suitable for its intended application and installed by qualified persons in accordance with the manufacturer's instructions and applicable codes. Some products can only be sold to certified or licensed buyers, or into certain places. We may ask for proof before quoting them, and we may decline any order we cannot lawfully fill.

9. Payment disputes

If something is wrong with an order, contact us first at sales@buildingtradesupply.com and we will work to fix it. Filing a card dispute or chargeback for parts that were delivered as quoted does not cancel the amount owed. In that case we will give the card issuer the approved quote, payment record and delivery confirmation.

10. Using this website

You may use this site to find parts and request quotes for your business. Do not submit false or misleading requests, overload the site with automated requests, try to get into accounts or areas that are not yours, or upload files you do not have the right to share. We may refuse requests, limit access or close accounts that break these rules. When you send us a part list, photo, document or testimonial, you allow us to use it to prepare your quote and run your order. Testimonials are published only after we review and approve them.

11. Trademarks and copyright

Manufacturer names, brands and part numbers appear on this site only to identify parts. They belong to their owners and do not mean those manufacturers endorse or are affiliated with us. If you believe anything on this site infringes your copyright or trademark, email sales@buildingtradesupply.com. Describe the material, where it appears, and your rights in it, and we will review it and remove it where appropriate.

12. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the Province of Ontario and the federal laws of Canada applicable there. Any dispute is subject to the courts of Ontario.

13. Changes

We may update these terms. The version in force is the one published on this page on the date a quote is issued.
